Whether you are a couple looking for a romantic getaway, a die-hard football fan or an adventurous bunch, the Inn at Patrick Square (located in Clemson, South Carolina) is the perfect place to experience small town, southern charm. The boutique hotel is located in the Patrick Square development, a unique community consisting of homes, restaurants and merchants. The inn consists of 36 guest rooms and nine suites that are filled with southern style and tradition.
I loved interacting with the sweet staff and greatly appreciated the individualized note they left in my room welcoming me. Southern hospitality is definitely a word that describes my experience at the Inn at Patrick Square.
“The Inn at Patrick Square is Southern hospitality and luxury… Clemson-style.”
Where to Eat
The inn’s onsite cafe, open for breakfast and lunch from 6 am to 2 pm daily, serves local favorites such as Methodical Coffee (Greenville, SC), Sweet Spot Bakeshop (Clemson, SC) and Mount Gilead Granola (Clemson, SC).
Be sure to try out one of the cafe’s drink specials! I had a Honey Lavender Latte and I was not disappointed. The staff was also super friendly. They offered lots of information about the cafe and their suppliers without being prompted. They were just that nice!
Rick Erwin’s Clemson
Looking for an elegant dinner restaurant for your romantic weekend getaway or a chic place to celebrate your girls weekend? Look no further than Rick Erwins: Clemson, the stylish neighbor of the Inn at Patrick square. What’s on the menu? Fresh seafood, steak, ribs, chops and wine.
Joe’s New York Pizza
Joe’s New York Pizza, located just down the block from the inn, is THE place in Patrick Square to catch a sporting event or have a casual gathering with friends. What’s on the menu? Pizza, beer, calzones, pasta and Italian subs of course! In the summer months, don’t miss the charming outside patio.
Coming Soon: SunnySide Cafe
SunnySide Cafe will become the Inn at Patrick Square’s other more casual neighbor. The cafe describes itself as farmhouse chic and will offer breakfast and lunch all day.
South Carolina Botanical Garden
The South Carolina Botanical Gardens are stunningly beautiful. I would encourage anyone in the area to go check them out. The gardens are comprised of nature trails, a geology museum, historical homes, and a unique trail that takes you through several diverse ecosystems that can be found across South Carolina.
I’m definitely not a Clemson fan (go Gamecocks!), but I wouldn’t mind watching the National Champions play football in their home stadium. The Clemson campus is also quite pretty and is only a few minutes away from the inn.
Want to experience a southern college town? Look no further. Downtown Clemson is the quintessential college town as it is mostly bars, restaurants and Clemson related shops.
There are many hiking opportunities located within an hour drive of Clemson. Most of these hikes lead to some really cool waterfalls. There are also several lakes nearby which allow boating and swimming.
